1000 Hills Bass Club

I was thinking that we could give everyone a little more incentive to participate in the club if we had more awards than just the Angler of the Year and Big Bass. I don't think it should be downplayed or anything, but if we had other awards it might give everyone something to shoot for regardless of skill level. Here's a few ideas of some achievements I thought we might want to award:

* Angler of the Year
* 2nd - 5th Place
* 6th Place - 10th Place (Probably not an option right now, but if we can grow the membership and get more participation it may become a possibility in the future)
* Big Bass of the Year
* Biggest Bag of the Year
* Sportsman of the Year (possibly based on community service, good deeds, conservation efforts, or any other service that reflects the club in a good light)

As far as the awards themselves, since the prize money is not really what is getting everyone to fish, maybe we could use the tournament entry fees to pay for plaques for the winners (or give them the cash value if they'd rather have that) for each tournament as well as the year-end awards. Some ideas I had for possible awards include:

Gift certificates (Bass Pro Shops, Cabelas, Tombstone Tackle, etc.)
Club T-shirts (we might be able to sell these to generate some revenue as well)
Tournament shirts
Membership dues
Club jackets
Plaques
Traveling trophy for AOY
Personalized items
- bump boards
- weigh-in bags
- nets
- rods
- reels
